Amanda and Felipe’s beautiful Spring wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs was many years in the making. I’d met them a few years ago over coffee to discuss their big day. Originally, their wedding was going to take place over the summer and with more guests, but due to the pandemic, their plans changed many, many times. From planning a reception with your close friends and family, to cutting out your reception entirely and keeping your ceremony to under ten guests.
Despite the limitations implemented by the government, Amanda and Felipe still had a beautiful wedding filled with so many special moments. Their ceremony was live streamed so their families from all over the world could watch. While normally speeches and first dances happen during the reception, they took place immediately following their ceremony. Afterwards they gave their speeches and Felipe followed it by playing a song for Amanda on the piano.
I loved Amanda’s stunning waterfall bouquet by Forget Me Not Flowers. It incorporated Amanda’s love of orchids which added to the timeless beauty of it. It photographed beautifully between Amanda’s two dresses! Her hair (Beatnik Salon) and makeup artist (Katie Lynn Kerr) also did an incredible job (not that it took much to make Amanda look stunning)! Felipe’s custom suit by Eph Apparel also incorporated his love of Deadpool!
Afterwards we headed to Lake Minnewanka for their wedding party pictures and portraits of them both. We truly lucked out with the weather and the fact that there were hardly any tourists there! A heads up to fellow photographers, the Lake Minnewanka Loop will have some changes. From May 1-20, Monday through Thursdays, the road will be accessible only to cyclists. With all that said, thank you Amanda and Felipe, for having me capture your Beautiful Spring wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs!
