I absolutely love shooting at the Pomeroy Kananaskis because of its ambiance (and the fact that you’re right in the middle of the mountains)! Â So, needless to say, I was so excited when Jeremy and Lauren asked me to capture their wedding.
Leading up to their wedding day, the weather was all over the map. Â It was calling for rain one day and sun the next. Â Sure enough, come Saturday, we had thick smoke followed with rain, but it didn’t put a damper on their wedding day (no pun intended).
After Jeremy and Lauren got ready, they headed out for their first look. Â They wrote each other vows which they’d read together after their first special moment. Â It was so touching to see! Â Afterwards, they headed down the aisle to get married! Â Another beautiful aspect of their wedding was during their reception. Â Instead of having floral centrepieces, they had cakes! Â After dinner was served, they went around to each table and cut the cake for their family and friends. Â It was amazing!
We got engaged at Bow Falls in Banff. Banff is very special to us as we spend a lot of time in the mountains and Lauren lived in Banff when we first started dating, so we spent a lot of time in town.
Being surrounded by our friends and family during the ceremony. One very memorable moment was a giant crack of thunder as soon as the ceremony started, but we laughed it off and the rain stayed away until the ceremony was over
Keep it simple and focus on the big picture day of. It is such an amazing day having all your friends and family with you, so soak it all up and enjoy every minute!
