Lindsay and Kevin’s wedding was so special to me.  I’ve photographed two of their friends’ weddings prior to theirs, so I knew how amazing these two were from the get-go!  Their wedding day was filled with so much happiness and love.  I’m truly so lucky to have been their to capture their happily ever after!

      How did you get engaged?
We had plans to get away to the mountains for the weekend together after we came home from my sister’s wedding in Montreal. Lake O’Hara was the hiking spot Kevin picked out, but I found out the day before that you needed to book that one well in advance. Kevin, cool on the outside, panicking on the inside, came up with plan B, which was Emerald Lake! We hiked up a trail where we came to a beautiful open area and took a break. I was enjoying the views, when all of a sudden Kevin was beside me, ring in hand, asking me to marry him! I said “obviously yes!!” and we spent the rest of the day in our most favourite element – the mountains – enjoying the start of our new chapter together.

What is the most memorable moment from your wedding?
Lindsay – There are SO many it’s really hard to choose. I’ll choose two J The first was our first look, Kevin’s reaction was out of this world the sweetest thing. For me, it was that moment when I saw his face, and said to myself there he is, there is my husband. The feeling was unbelievable. The second was when Kevin and I took a time out to ourselves in the middle of the party to go for a walk and reflect on the day. When we came back to the venue, we stopped and just watched for a second. There in one room, having the best dance party ever was everyone we loved. It was quite overwhelming, in the best way.

Kevin – I would have to agree with Lindsay on both things mentioned above. One of the most memorable and special moments for me was seeing Lindsay for the first time at the first look, which blew me away. Another was the ceremony. Both during and afterwards walking down the aisle will be one of the most memorable moments for me.

If you could give one piece of advice to couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
We would both say to truly take in every memory and step along the way. The planning process can get a little stressful, but always come back to why you are doing it! The time flies faster than we both could have imagined, so soak it all in and no matter what, your day will be perfect. Also taking 15 mins to go for a walk just the two of you during the peak of the evening was the best thing I think we did for ourselves to look at each and say HOLY we are married!! It’s the best J

What was your most favourite wedding detail, and why?
Lindsay – For me it was incorporating our friends and family into the day as much as we could. Our friend played the guitar for our ceremony and another friend was our DJ. My Uncle MC’d, our friend made a slide show for us and Kevin’s mom made our cutting cake. It felt so special to have these people make our day so personal. Also out turtle cake toppers – which I am very sure Kevin will agree on!

Kevin – again, definitely agree with Lindsay on the above. The small details we had incorporated within the wedding here and there were one of my favorite things. From the turtle cake toppers, to the beer mugs we used at dinner, to the small accessories that the guys had as part of their suits like the tie clips to the unique button on my suit. And of course the unique pieces Lindsay incorporated in her dress to make in something special and specific to her which made it that much more amazing. My favorite detail were all the little details that we incorporated to make it truly our wedding.
