An Intimate Wedding at the Lake House – Calgary Wedding Photographer

Jess and Matt got married on a Sunday in September at the Lake House in Lake Bonavista. It is a beautiful venue overlooking the lake. The venue has a stunning rustic feel, complete with hardwood flooring, chandeliers made of antlers and a beautiful wood burning fireplace, which is usually adorned with florals and greenery. As a Calgary Wedding Photographer, it’s an absolute dream to shoot in venues such as this one.  Jess got ready at her parents’ home and wore a Truvelle bridal gown, which perfectly accented the rustic vibe of her wedding. They had their first look at Fish Creek Park, which was then followed by family portraits and wedding party portraits. Being a Calgary Wedding Photographer, I love working amongst the trees and valleys, as it allows for ample shade, should there be any harsh lighting that day.

Matt and Jess then returned to the Lake House where they had their ceremony in front of only a handful of family and their wedding party. There was a gap in the timeline which allowed us to leave the venue for more portraits. We chose a nearby park with ample beauty and rolling hills. When you discuss your timeline with your Calgary Wedding Photographer, it is important that you voice your needs/wants for your wedding day. For my couples, if they highly emphasize portraits, we make sure to fit more than enough time in for them. From there, we headed back to the Lake House where they had their reception with all their friends and family. It made for a beautiful, romantic, Calgary wedding.
