I’d met Jelena and Brady at a Starbucks quite a while back and was excited to hear more about their wedding. Â From their email, I knew they were getting married in Invermere, which immediately piqued my interest. Â In a long story shorty, my parents lived there after they’d gotten married, before finally settling in Calgary. Â They used to bring us back there when my brother and I were just children so, needless to say, I was excited to visit there again! Â Invermere has significance to Jelena and Brady as Brady’s parents own a place there where they spend their summers.
Their wedding day started off with a big of a hiccup but ended beautifully. Â This beautiful couple (and their amazing wedding party) braved the (incredibly cold) gusting wind, and we were able to get some amazing images!
How did you get engaged?
We met in Invermere and we spend a lot of time there, so it’s a special place for us. One weekend in February (during heavy snowfall) Brady took me on a quad across the lake. He had a fire and we had a hot dog roast. It was so peaceful with just the two of us and white snow, mountains, and a train going by. As I got up to look at the view, I turned back around and he was on his knee asking me to marry him.
What is the most memorable moment from your wedding?
J: Seeing only Brady’s face as I’m walking down the aisle.
B: Seeing Jelena for the first time as she was walking down the aisle.
If you could give one piece of advice to couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
J: Â Plan it together- it makes it so much more fun.
B: Get a wedding coordinator for the day-of it makes a huge difference and makes your day so much more enjoyable.
What was your most favourite wedding detail, and why?
J: The truck cake topper-it incorporated Brady’s passion so perfectly into the wedding. It was important for our wedding to show who we were as a couple.
B: The pocket watch because it’s a family heirloom and it’s something I want to pass on to my children one day.
