I remember first pulling up to Tiffany and Ramsay’s house for their engagement session, and I was SO excited. Â I absolutely love in home sessions – especially when they’re as special as Tiffany and Ramsay’s (you can check out their session and story
here); so I knew their wedding day would be just as special. Â They were surrounded by some pretty amazing family and friends! Â We took a drive to a beautiful park and finished it off with some burgers, some nuptials and more portraits! Â I love Tiffany’s wedding day advice below, “plan your day around eating”. Â YES.
How did you get engaged?
We were on vacation in St. Maartens at a popular spot called Sunset Beach when a plane flew overhead with a banner that said “Tiffany will you marry me?”… just kidding what really happened was… we happened to walk into a jewelers in the area and found a ring I loved that was the right price so after a few back and forths of Ramsay asking if I REALLY liked it and me shyly saying yes but in my head thinking this ring is not coming off he said “I guess we will get it!”. So the jeweler took the price tag off the ring and handed it back to Ramsay to put on my finger. He didn’t say a thing until I very lovingly said “don’t you have something to say to me!?” And he FINALLY asked me to marry him!
What is the most memorable moment from your wedding?
The whole day was amazing how do we pick!
I loved driving around in our truck just the two of us to the different shoot locations, it was nice to just spend quiet time together doing something we’ve always done as a couple.
Also it was such a warm fuzzy feeling sitting at the head table and looking out to all our smiling families and friends – it was very humbling.
If you could give one piece of advice to couples planning their wedding, what would it be?
The most important part of a wedding is to get married everything is extra so don’t sweat the small stuff! When things go wrong nobody notices except you, so don’t stress about it! Same with the weather, we got poured on prior to the ceremony and it didn’t ruin a thing! Don’t feel pressured to follow the “normal/traditional” wedding plan. We strayed from it in quite a few ways and each and every one of them was either well received or just made our day way easier.
Also plan your day around eating, we stopped at Peters for lunch and got delicious food and cute photos!
What was your most favourite wedding detail, and why?
We filled our wedding with a ton of personal little touches, our seating chart was a window to our old garage and we got married in our community by my old childhood minister. It was important for us to keep everything local.
