I had such a blast spending the evening with Sarah and Zeek. About an hour before their session was due to start, the rain and thunder came barreling over the NW part of the city (where we both live) and left us making the call til the very last second. I’m so glad we were able to shoot that night – it was perfect!
How did you and your fiancé meet?
Sarah: We met eight years ago at a bar in Calgary. Once we started talking, we quickly learned that we were in the same Economics class at Mount Royal University and we didn’t even know it! Economics class soon became a place to get to know one another better rather than learning about supply and demand!
Zeek: Sarah would ask for help on the Econ assignments. Since I thought she was cute, I was happy to help. Annoyingly, she ended up doing better on the assignments than I did! She clearly didn’t need my help.
What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day (aside from marrying your spouse)?
Zeek: I’m looking forward to seeing Sarah walk down the aisle in the her wedding dress. I’ve done my best to make sure it’s going to be a surprise. I know she is going look so beautiful.
Sarah : I’m looking forward to the reception party!
Tell us a little bit about your wedding!
It will be held here in Calgary on August 26, 2017. Our ceremony will be at Knox United Church (such a beautiful church!) and our reception at The Hamptons Golf Club (close to home). We can’t wait to celebrate with our family and friends!
What’s been the funnest process of planning your wedding so far?
Our engagement shoot with Stephanie was so much fun! We couldn’t stop giggling! The day of our shoot, the weather was looking quite ominous, but the rain cleared up just in the nick of time. The sun came out and it made for a beautiful evening for pictures!
We also really enjoyed our cupcake tasting with Stephanie from Sugarstoneyyc (Especially Sarah because she has such a sweet tooth!). Stephanie had so many different flavors for us to try- from the traditional vanilla and chocolate, to an oreo cupcake and a coconut cupcake… yum!
