Shelly and Curtis’ wedding was such an incredible way to start my wedding season (and I know they heard me tell them that a million times on their wedding day)!  Their wedding day began at Shelly’s house where we then met Curtis at a location nearby to the Lake House for their first look.   These two (and their wedding party) braved the (unseasonably) low April temperature, complete with gusting winds (brining it to near -20), but you wouldn’t be able to tell!  They kept a brave face and made the best of what Mother Nature threw their way!

Afterwards, we headed to the Lake House where they tied the knot!  Their wedding was perfection.  Their friends, family, and staff at the Lake House were so incredibly warm and welcoming.  I couldn’t be happier for these two and wish them a lifetime of happiness together!  Here’s a little more from them…

      How did you get engaged?

Got engaged on our first year dating anniversary. I took her to Banff – up the gondola, to the hot springs – then back to Calgary for dinner, Christmas lights, a drink, then proposed at her house, which I decorated.

What is the most memorable moment from your wedding?

So many! I think definitely the speeches, but also reciting our vows, speaking with guests throughout dinner, watching my grandpa get wheeled around the dance floor in his wheelchair, and the general atmosphere, look, and feel of the Lake House.

If you could give one piece of advice to couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

Plan ahead and record your expenditures from the first purchase. Keeping organized will reduce the stress of planning significantly.

What was your most favourite wedding detail, and why?

The florals. They were stunning! Everything from the fireplace piece, to the greenery running down the tables, the piece on the welcome sign!
