It was such a pleasure meeting with Elise and Rick! Â We’d initially chatted over Skype because they live in Jasper (how lucky are they?) Â Needless to say, we had a blast at their engagement session! Â I’m so excited for their wedding this May!
How did you and your fiancé meet?
Rick:  We met at the summer staff barbeque party at Trefoil Lake. Elise had more guts than me and walked up and introduced herself. Weeks prior to this, a mutual friend of ours told both of us that she knew the perfect guy/girl for us. Both of us were busy with work and life that we didn’t listen to her. Elise was the first one who listened to her and I’m still really thankful she did! Because that’s how I met the woman of my dreams!
Where was your first date and how did it go?
Rick:  We disagree on what our first date was because Elise says it doesn’t count because we had a friend driving us. But I’m saying our first date was late at night and we went to Pyramid Island to watch the northern lights. Elise’s roommate drove us there because she was too shy to see me alone. She was worried about not knowing what to say however she didn’t need to be. We talked all night and held hands on the drive home. From that day forward we were hooked!
What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day (aside from marrying your spouse)?
Elise: Â Rick and I are most excited to have all of our family and friends together in the place where it all began for us! Jasper is such an important part of our story and to have all of our loved ones to celebrate with us will make it even more special!
Tell us a little bit about your wedding!
Elise:  Our wedding will have a focus on family, friends, and the beautiful outdoors! We have spent many years hiking and exploring Jasper so we are hoping our wedding will help showcase our love for the outdoors. Our main bar will be the Canoe that my dad gave us – he actually built it about 40 years ago! Rick has mastered the art of Caesars and I absolutely adore Mojitos so we will be having a second bar dedicated to these drinks! We really want to personalize our wedding so there will be lots of little touches to showcase our personalities.
