I remember when Veronica, Corey and I first started emailing back and for about their Calgary wedding, I knew I’d like them right away. Not only were they foodies, but Veronica also had a love of reading and books too! Eventually, we ended up chatting more and more and I’m so lucky to call her my friend now! Since the start of planning her wedding (and then re-planning due to Covid), her and Corey have introduced Gabe and I to probably one of the most amazing burger places (ever), and her and I started a book club with some of the most amazing people in it (8 members and growing)! Veronica is also the talent behind Something More Social – a social media management company! Her expertise has helped small businesses like my own, grow!
Now, back to their wedding! As I mentioned above, Corey and Veronica have a love for good food which is why I think the Bow Valley Ranche came naturally to them. Not only is the ambiance of the restaurant sheer perfection, but their food is some of the best in the city! I began their day capturing Corey getting ready at their friend’s house and by the time I made it to their house to capture Veronica’s getting ready shots, the weather had turned for the worse. The winds picked up and it began to rain. With all fingers crossed, we headed to Confederation Park for their first look before heading to the Ranche. We managed to capture some (blustery) wedding party portraits where everyone held it together and kept in high spirits (despite the weather) before moving onto Veronica and Corey’s portraits! By that time, the weather was gusting winds of 60km/hr + and raining… which then turned to a wet snow. The staff at the Ranche quickly moved their outdoor ceremony inside while we finished capturing their portraits. Despite Mother Nature throwing us a curve ball, Veronica and Corey rolled with the punches and (while they may have been having an internal meltdown) you couldn’t tell they were stressed at all!
After their ceremony, the weather cleared up (of course) and we snuck back outside for a few more portraits before beginning their reception. Their day was so incredibly perfect and so memorable and I’m so lucky to have been their Calgary wedding photographer! I couldn’t be happier for these two! Congratulations Veronica and Corey!
