I loved capturing Brandi & Tyson’s Banff elopement at Lake Minnewanka. With its beautiful clear waters and majestic mountains, it provides a picturesque backdrop for wedding photos. As a Banff wedding photographer, capturing the beauty of Lake Minnewanka and the intimate moments of an elopement is a dream come true. Brandi and Tyson’s Banff elopement was such a breeze with how down to earth and easy going they were. Their parents were there to witness and celebrate their union with them. It was so incredibly special!
One of the first things to consider when photographing an elopement at Lake Minnewanka is the time of day. Early morning or late afternoon (even early evening) is ideal for the soft, warm light that will make the photos glow. Shooting during mid-day when the sun is high in the sky can create harsh shadows and overexposure.
Another important aspect to consider is the weather. Lake Minnewanka is located in Banff National Park, which can experience surprise snow or rain storms. I always prep my clients before their shoot for what to expect and best things to pack!
Overall, photographing a Banff elopement at Lake Minnewanka is an incredible experience. I always love hearing the excitement in my couples’ voices when they talk about how beautiful it is. Being there to capture that for them is such an honour!
