It’s quite rare that I don’t meet a couple until their wedding day, so needless to say, I was a little bit nervous walking into bridal prep.  The minute I met Kayla, I knew her and Miranda’s wedding day would be amazing.  You could feel the love she had for Miranda, just by the way she spoke of her.
As everyone took their seats for the ceremony, I looked over all their guests.  Everyone was so happy to be there.  Then Miranda walked down the aisle and the tears started and never stopped until her and Kayla said their I Do’s.  It was such a beautiful, emotional, joyous day, and I’m so lucky I got to capture their happily ever after!

      How did you get engaged?
We spent Christmas apart because I didn’t get very much time off. Before leaving, we agreed to open our stockings to one another when we were back. While I was on Vancouver island with my family I ordered an engagement ring for Miranda, which was scheduled to arrive in mid January. On December 30 Miranda arrived back in Vancouver and asked me to come home from work early. I got back and we casually started opening our stockings to one another. Miranda insisted on watching me open mine first. I got to the bottom and noticed a tiny chocolate box. Craving some chocolate, I opened it up and saw the ring. I looked up and Miranda had gotten super nervous. She said, “I’m not very good at expressing myself, but I do know one thing: I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” Afterward she told me that there were other things she was going to try to say if she could get them out but that what she said was the “must say”. The proposal was perfect! And Miranda beat me to the punch!

What is the most memorable moment from your wedding?

Both of us will never forget our vows to one another. (Kayla speaking) For me, Miranda said the most magnificent things – things I could never have even dreamed of – and promised everything I could hope for in a partner for life. When I saw her chin quiver and tears form, my heart just swooned and ached like I will never forget. (Miranda speaking) Kayla’s words flooded my heart with an inexpressible amount of love and reinforced why i am so excited to spend the rest of my life with her.  If the day would have ended after she read her vows I would have been perfectly content.

If you could give one piece of advice to couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

Don’t stress things will work out! And no one will remember any of the details that caused you stress.
